What is VoIP?

VoIP is short for "Voice over Internet Protocol".  VoIP is a way of making a phone call using the internet to send the data instead of using a phone network or cellular telephone network.  The advantage of using VoIP is that you can make free long distance phone calls using your existing internet service.

How Do You Make Free Phone Calls with VoIP?

You can download software that allows you to make VoIP calls from your computer.  Skype is one example of free VoIP software.  Skype also allow you to do videoconferencing if you have a webcam connected to you computer.
